FASHION: Design Development

After doing my primary research in the shops I formed a list of possible outcomes for this brief:

Products to produce:

- bag
- clothing tag
- tissue wrapping
- receipt holder
- compliments slip
- customer contact card
- look book

I sketched out some idea of how the branding could be applied to the different pieces of media.


When I did this I thought of separating the text from the square and using the square as an icon. Also how could the type and copy work harder in delivering the brand message. I made a decision of it being copy led branding because of the name having it's own signature writing.

The idea would be that the different outcomes would have a key word followed by 'black' taking on the concept of the black label.
eg. buy black, try black etc for things such as signs and way finding
For outcomes which is directed at the customer personally it uses a key word and then 'label'. eg. your label, thanks label, bag label

This concept is direct and expands upon the name of the brand giving it a stripped and focused position. The idea is that theres no fuss, pure and simple in it's statements just like black the colour and it's position in fashion. It's sophisticated, clear and distinct in it's language showing it's experience and knowledge in what's it's doing and saying.
