I scanned in the patterns I traced for the vinyls.
I then live traced them to make them vectors.
I scaled it to A2 after me and Sam had visited the print room and looked at the water trays they had. We had decided to break the piece into 4 to get the scale. Each pattern will be vinyl cut and placed on an a2 piece of wood and dipped into the marble. These will then be put together to make an A0 print flag.
I spoke to James down stairs and he said the larger, the better due to the peeling away stage being difficult when there is tiny parts.
I decided to do the fingerprint as a practice so we cut it out on vinyl and me and james peeled it away.
Slight problem occurred unfortunately and the vinyl stuck to it's self and meant it ended up ripping up the pattern when we tried to separate them.
I preserved with it so we could use why was left as a practice piece.
We cut it out on vinyl again this time removing all the outlines that the live trace had created, making it easier to peel. This worked successfully!
We then applied it to application paper to get it ready to transfer to our stock.
