After coming back to this after talking with various people I had a rethink. I spoke to someone I know who has worked in a store selling top end brands such as Armani and Dior and told them the concept of the theme store 'Blacks'. They then discussed the process in which a buyer buys the collection from the designer/brands talking through with me the different bands of clothing in the collection, the way they chose what they chose and the fabric designs based on the season and timing.
Learning this reality of the industry made me analyse my concept. It would work for new and upcoming designers as a platform but it wouldn't be realistic for the big name designers to design a small collection for another company which I kind of knew anyway. Therefore I didn't no wether a store for just up and coming designers would work unless the company already had a serious reputation in the industry for bringing new blood to the scene like Browns does.
To make the store have a definite concrete and realistic concept I decided to focus on a different area of my research.
The main thing about black in fashion is that its timeless and is always fashionable. It's the staple to every wardrobe and goes with everything. Therefore I had decided my store is going to capitalise on this and the sell the creme de le creme of black fashion. The top shoes, dresses, bags, trousers etc for that season all in black so people can come and get there staple piece to work there wardrobe around.
I started looking at the name again because I wasn't massively keen on Black.
I thought about the 'Little Black Dress' as that originated black in fashion and wether the store could go from that and be little black.. or little black x
I also considered french versions as Coco chanel is French. As well as other words like beginning and start in french.
