FASHION: Typeface Development

Using the fonts I had found on wordmark.it I cut it down to the ones that stood out the most to me. I also tried it on the google test site in Playfair Display which is a font i'd have to pay for.

I tried working with different variations of the typefaces, trying combinations of sans serif and serif, bold and regular weights as well using sans serif with serif copy and vice versa.
I had to make a choice between using serif and it being modern and current in style or sans serif being traditional and classic in it's history.

I decided to stem off with the serif. I tried adding some temp copy to see if the sans serif could work alongside it.

I started off with the strongest one and tried working copy around it

I then tried adding imagery to it using the typography characteristics

I tried working with the sans serif again as I had a block with the serif

I then saw the X could be made out of the letters L and B because of there stems.

I don't no if this is really what I wanted to create but it is very similar to what the top retail brands do.
