After such success after our first crit we have decided to gather the same time next week. In this crit I showed three briefs just asking questions and opinions were I had come to a stand still.
Posh Nosh:
With this brief I showed them the final layouts across all the items of food I had decided on after applying the new decision from the previous crit to go with the simple stripped atheistic. They agreed that this worked a lot better and across all the different items of packaging.
Louise Monk:
I showed the sketches I had created and her photography explaining that I was really stuck in the route to take it without being cliche. They agreed with me that if I was to do the marbling effect then a visual logo wouldn't work as the marble is so visual itself. They advised me that the best route in which to take this was typographic as this wouldn't put her in a box if she was to do other photography. They pointed out the Louise MMMonk idea as the route to go done.
Self:
I also showed them the typefaces I had tried for the Self natural makeup range so I could get another opinion. They said they liked the reflection and they liked the thin kerned typeface and to combine the two together. During the crit we tested a lower opacity and a gradient. We agreed the gradient was best and to separate the two as to make it look like it was floating. This works well for this brand as the reflection gives a high end relaxing spa aspect as well as reflecting like a mirror which works with the brands products.
