Posh Nosh: Packaging Development

In order to get the full image of the butler I traced out my own version excluding elements such as the tray and adding an arm. This I then digitalised to make a vector image.

As I was relatively happy with the layout of the packaging I then decided to starting applying it to the other items of food packaging. I wanted to get the five together showing how it translates across the different formats before having a crit on the design.

One thing that I found difficult was the typographic layout of the descriptive text.

I played around with the wording and scale of text to try and get them to slot together nicely. The key thing was decedents and ascenders as if they didn't align in a certain way there seemed to be a lot of white space evident.

Another aspect which was a challenge was the scale of format varying between products. This meant there was need for a lot more decoration and information in order to create a realistic piece of food packaging.

I wanted the packaging to be uniform together but also vary slightly just to maintain interest. I did not want the same design just varying in scale.
