D&AD: The Brief

I printed off all the D&AD briefs and highlighted them. This was something I had learnt from last year. After seeing peoples entries to other briefs I had overlooked I made sure to consider every single one this year as to not miss out on one that I could really get into.

There were a few briefs that took my fancy such National Trust and DCM. There were also brands that I thought could be interesting to work on. Seb really took a shine to the ASOS brief. We discussed our favourites. I said that I felt ASOS was asking something I felt I couldn't answer and I didn't feel inspired by the brief. He said that he thought national trust was boring and couldn't see how I had envisioned it when reading it.

After going away Seb brought the British Council brief to my attention. I can't really remember my initial thoughts on that brief but when he described it as a fashion exhibition identity I was more enthused and felt this is something we could do really well.

This brief we feel will of been overlooked by many because of it being British Council.

Me and Seb have therefore settled on the British Council brief as we feel that works for both our strengths and skills.
