Posh Nosh: Collaboration

I wanted the photography to be spot on for the brief as the campaign aspect is my favourite part and I can really visualise it working well. Therefore after previous experience of trying to do the photography myself and it not turning out that well due to my lack of knowledge I decided I would collaborate with a photographer who does have the skills. I sourced Louse Monk who does food photography, ideal for my idea.

Me and Louise spoke and she was happy to help me out. We met up and I ran through her my idea, showing my sketches, the logo I had created and the research booklet that I had put together that also included some food photography. She seemed really enthused about the brief and said that she has some materials such as slate and wood which we can photograph on. This was perfect for the kind of look that I was trying to achieve.

We discussed the option of shooting on site in a kitchen however our kitchens available aren't ones that particularly suit this look style because of student housing having lack of … style. Therefore we decided that we would first try in studio. I think using a grey sheet for the background could work after looking at the tones of rustic food photography.

We agreed on a time and booked the studio for an evening. I now have to prep my objects by spraying them the Selfridges yellow, buy the other props to help create a scene and source the food.

In addition to this I am going to create a small portfolio of images to show the rustic style i'm trying to achieve as the images in my research booklet didn't really match up. This I will show Louise this in advance so we both are on the same track.
