This crit was reassuring because I felt a bit stuck about my work but these made me realise that it did have potential. The feedback was really positive and it was said I had a really strong concept with the brand. As I had said my target audience was predominately mid age females who have disposable income and time to take on gifting. Simon stated that this would appeal to young professionals also because they have a disposable income and appreciate quality products.
We also discussed other options in where to take the products and how they can become more useful and practical. People mentioned how wrapping is difficult and how different techniques could be applied to make it easier. I'm unsure on these though as I don't want to limit the products to certain sizes to certain gifts as so many different things can be wrapped and given as presents. I think the product need to aid using them but still be open to wide use.
I asked about the asterisk size and placement which had a mix review. Everyone said that they liked it being raised above the text at a larger size as it appeared more as an icon and logo. It was also said that the asterisk written with the word at the correct size made it more clear. I think ultimately I will have to apply them to the packaging in full to see which works best in a new crit.
The icons with the occasions went down really well surprisingly. People thought it was clear and well connected. It was also said that it seemed to connect well with men as it made it simpler and the tearable wrapping paper would just cut out that difficulty.
