I brainstormed what I thought of when I thought 'black' and then added to this with research into it's history. Some of the words inspired visuals for the word such as shadow. Also other words for black caught my eye so I noted those down. I highlighted words that stood out to me and could aid it in the way of fashion.
I decided to then go from this into a new brainstorm with a focus on the actual brand for the fashion store. I came up with the concept of it being a rotating collection. They would set a theme with a key word associated with black such as 'noir' or 'slate'. This would then be given to interpret by designers either known or unknown who do either men, female, underwear or shoes. The store would then host the collection under the theme for a period or time (most likely with the seasons). This would then give new designers a good platform to get known as well as the store to have bespoke and limited edition creations.
This was the way I thought the store could be different to the competitive market. It doesn't just host one designers collection like other stores but brings a few together outside of a department store so they still get the special exclusiveness. It also means there clothes can be displayed like art, enhancing there quality and price.
